Pakistan KUFPEC energy cooperation

Petroleum Minister Holds Talks With KUFPEC on Energy Investment

Pakistan KUFPEC energy cooperation was the focus of a meeting on Tuesday as Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik met Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC) Vice President for Operations Tariq Ibrahim to discuss investment opportunities in Pakistan’s energy sector.

According to state broadcaster PTV, both sides reviewed ways to strengthen collaboration, particularly in Pakistan’s upstream oil and gas industry. The meeting explored opportunities to expand cooperation and encourage new investment in the country’s energy sector.

Speaking during the meeting, Malik described Kuwait as a close friend of Pakistan and said the two countries share a 50-year partnership in the energy sector. He added that the government remains committed to strengthening Pakistan KUFPEC energy cooperation through long-term collaboration.

Tariq Ibrahim said KUFPEC is exploring investment opportunities in Pakistan’s upstream oil and gas sector. He discussed the company’s interest in expanding its presence as Pakistan seeks greater foreign investment in energy development.

The petroleum minister assured KUFPEC of the government’s full support and said Pakistan would provide a favourable investment environment. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to facilitating international investors and improving ease of doing business in the energy sector.

The meeting comes as Pakistan faces renewed concerns over fuel supplies. Industry officials have warned that delayed imports, low fuel inventories, rising global oil prices and disruptions linked to regional tensions are increasing pressure on the country’s petroleum supply chain.

Officials say petrol stocks have declined to about 379,442 tonnes, enough for roughly 14 days of consumption based on current demand. The Pakistan KUFPEC energy cooperation discussions are viewed as part of broader efforts to strengthen the country’s long-term energy security and attract foreign investment.
