KP Security Operations: ISPR Says 10 Militants Killed in South Waziristan and Upper Dir

Pakistan’s security forces have killed 10 militants during two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The latest KP Security Operations targeted armed militants in South Waziristan and Upper Dir as part of the country’s ongoing counterterrorism efforts.

According to the military’s media wing, the first operation was carried out on August 6 in the Azam Warsak area of South Waziristan. During the operation, militants reportedly launched an attack on security forces’ check posts, prompting a swift response from the troops deployed in the area.

ISPR stated that security personnel effectively repelled the assault, resulting in the deaths of eight militants during the exchange of fire. The military described the operation as a successful response aimed at preventing further attacks on security installations.

In a separate operation conducted in Upper Dir district, security forces killed two additional militants. ISPR said weapons, ammunition, and other military equipment were recovered from the suspects. The statement added that the individuals were allegedly involved in multiple militant activities in the region.

The military further said that counterterrorism operations are continuing under the national security initiative “Azm-e-Istehkam.” According to ISPR, security forces remain committed to dismantling militant networks and maintaining peace across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other affected areas.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for the successful operations in South Waziristan and Upper Dir. In his statement, he commended the professionalism and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting ongoing counterterrorism efforts.

The prime minister also stated that operations against militant groups would continue until terrorism is completely eliminated. He emphasized that the government and the people of Pakistan stand alongside the country’s security forces in their efforts to maintain national security and stability.
