Mohsin Naqvi Meets Iran President, Delivers Key Message

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi delivered a special message from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during a meeting in Tehran.

According to sources, the meeting between Mohsin Naqvi and President Pezeshkian focused on bilateral relations and developments affecting regional peace and security. The Pakistani minister conveyed the leadership’s message during the meeting.

Sources said Naqvi also briefed the Iranian president on the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement involving Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye. The agreement was discussed in the context of regional security and defence cooperation.

Mohsin Naqvi had met President Pezeshkian in Tehran a day earlier as part of Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement with Iran. The meeting came amid continued efforts to strengthen communication and cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.

Following the meeting, President Pezeshkian said Iran was ready to help create a path for greater cooperation with Pakistan. He described stronger bilateral ties as beneficial for both countries.

The Iranian president also said improved relations between Pakistan and Iran could contribute to greater regional security and stability. His remarks highlighted the importance of closer cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting and exchange of messages reflect Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to maintain close engagement with Iran. Discussions on the Makkah agreement also indicate Islamabad’s focus on keeping regional security developments part of its diplomatic dialogue.
