Air defenses intercept Iranian attacks on Bahrain

Bahrain’s Defence Force has intercepted and destroyed 174 missiles and 385 drones amid ongoing Iranian attacks, officials announced. The air defense systems successfully prevented the projectiles from striking civilian areas and critical infrastructure, according to the General Command.

In its statement, the command condemned attacks on civilians and private property, calling them a serious violation of international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter. Officials described the assaults as a direct threat to regional security and stability.

Authorities advised the public to remain alert, avoid damaged areas, stay away from suspicious objects, and rely only on official sources for information. They also warned against sharing unverified reports.

The successful interceptions demonstrate Bahrain’s strong air defense capabilities and readiness to protect citizens and infrastructure against missile and drone threats. Officials reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding national security.

Analysts noted that the attacks underscore rising tensions in the Gulf region and the ongoing risk posed by Iranian missile and drone activity. Bahrain’s vigilant response aims to maintain stability amid escalating threats.
