Dar’s decision to proceed with the visit despite medical advice to rest after a minor shoulder fracture reflects the importance Pakistan attaches to its relationship with China. His participation underscores Islamabad’s commitment to maintaining strong diplomatic engagement and sustaining high-level exchanges with Beijing.
Earlier, Dar and Wang Yi held a telephone conversation to discuss evolving regional dynamics and broader global developments.
Both sides agreed to promote ceasefire efforts, resume peace talks, and ensure the safety of key waterways. China also expressed support for Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue in ongoing tensions involving Iran.
Pakistan has recently taken a central role in mediation efforts between the United States and Iran, working with regional partners. Officials confirmed that indirect communication between both sides continues through structured channels.
The visit is expected to strengthen diplomatic coordination and contribute to regional peace and stability.
