Trump Iran nuclear deal

Trump Softens Stance on Iran’s Enriched Uranium Transfer Amid Ongoing Nuclear Talks

Donald Trump has indicated a softer position regarding Iran’s enriched uranium as negotiations between Washington and Tehran continue to move forward.

In a statement shared on Truth Social, Trump said Iran’s enriched uranium could either be transferred to the United States for disposal or destroyed at a mutually agreed location under international supervision.

According to Trump, the preferred option would involve cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran to eliminate the material either at its current site or another acceptable location. He added that the entire process would take place under the monitoring and presence of an atomic energy authority or an equivalent international body.

The remarks reflect a more flexible tone compared to earlier statements in which Trump claimed Iran was prepared to hand over its damaged enriched uranium stockpile to the United States.

Speaking to reporters previously, the US president said negotiators from both countries were “very close” to finalizing an agreement aimed at ending tensions and preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

In an interview with CBS News, Trump stated that the proposed agreement would ensure Iran could not develop nuclear weapons while also guaranteeing that its enriched uranium would be handled in what he described as a “satisfactory manner.”

Trump further emphasized that he would only approve a deal that fully meets US strategic objectives.

The latest developments suggest that diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran may be entering a critical phase, with both sides exploring alternative mechanisms for uranium management and international oversight.
