Pakistan is playing a significant role in mediating talks between the United States and Iran, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said on Thursday. He highlighted Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at fostering peace in the region.
Speaking in Sialkot, Asif emphasized the importance of dialogue in resolving conflicts. He stated that it is premature to comment on the ongoing US-Iran tensions in detail, but Pakistan’s role in facilitating discussions remains crucial.
“I pray for the success of these efforts and hope peace is restored in our region,” he added, calling for differences to be settled through dialogue rather than conflict.
Asif also stressed the need for unity among Muslim nations, reminding that all Muslims follow one Prophet. He expressed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting cohesion and stability within the Muslim Ummah.
Turning to India, the minister made strong allegations, claiming that New Delhi could stage false flag operations to create narratives of terrorism. He pointed out that India’s actions have drawn global criticism and scrutiny from its own citizens.
Despite acknowledging India’s larger economy and military, Asif warned that Pakistan would respond decisively to any aggression. He stated that Pakistan’s Air Force has previously penetrated Indian territory and could respond in the future as far as Kolkata if provoked.
While issuing these warnings, Asif reiterated Pakistan’s desire for peace. He concluded by emphasizing dialogue and diplomacy as the primary tools for maintaining regional stability and avoiding further escalation.
