The development emerged during a meeting between Pakistan’s Power Division and an ADB delegation in Islamabad. The discussion took place ahead of an expected visit by the bank’s vice president later this month.
ADB officials revealed that detailed studies are underway to assess rooftop solar systems and battery energy storage systems (BESS). These findings will help guide policies shaping Pakistan solar power transition in the coming years.
Pakistan’s Power Minister highlighted that the energy sector has shown resilience despite global challenges. He credited the increased use of local resources such as hydropower, coal, and solar energy for strengthening the system.
