The annual Ghusl-e-Kaaba ceremony was held at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, where the Holy Kaaba was ceremonially cleansed with Zamzam water and rose water. The event brought together foreign diplomats, representatives of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Islamic scholars, and other distinguished guests.
The ceremony took place after the Fajr prayer inside the Grand Mosque. Representing the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Makkah Deputy Governor Prince Saud bin Mishaal attended the annual ritual and participated in the traditional washing of the Kaaba.
A fragrant mixture of Zamzam water and rose water was used to wash the interior of the Holy Kaaba, following a long-standing Islamic tradition observed with great reverence. The annual ceremony symbolizes the care and honor given to Islam’s holiest site.

During the event, only a limited number of pilgrims were allowed to perform Tawaf around the Kaaba, while authorities implemented strict security measures to ensure the ceremony was conducted safely and smoothly.
To protect the Kiswah, the black cloth covering the Kaaba, the curtain over the Kaaba’s door was raised during the washing process. This allowed authorized officials easy access to the interior while helping safeguard the sacred covering.
The annual Ghusl Kaaba ceremony is regarded as one of the most significant religious traditions in Islam. It reflects the continued commitment to preserving and maintaining the sanctity of the Holy Kaaba, attracting attention from Muslims around the world each year.
