PESHAWAR: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reiterated the armed forces’ commitment to defeating terrorism and ensuring lasting peace and stability across Pakistan.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir visited the Peshawar Corps Headquarters, where he received a detailed briefing on the prevailing security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and ongoing counterterrorism operations in the province.
During the visit, the army chief was also briefed on border management measures and the operational preparedness of formations deployed across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The briefing covered the security environment and the readiness of troops responsible for maintaining security in the province.
Field Marshal Asim Munir directed the formations to remain vigilant and maintain the highest standards of operational preparedness. He stressed the importance of continued readiness in view of the prevailing security environment.
The visit also provided an opportunity to review the ongoing efforts aimed at countering terrorist threats in the province. Security operations remain an important part of efforts to maintain stability and protect the population in areas facing security challenges.
Speaking during the visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir said the armed forces were firmly committed to defeating terrorism. He also reiterated their resolve to contribute towards establishing sustainable peace and stability in the country.
