Eight Militants Killed in Security Operations Across Balochistan: ISPR

Security forces have killed eight militants during intelligence-based operations in several districts of Balochistan, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The operations were conducted in Quetta, Nushki and Khuzdar as part of ongoing efforts to counter militant activity in the province.

According to the military’s media wing, the operations targeted members of what it described as the Indian-backed militant group Fitna al-Hindustan. The statement said the security forces carried out targeted actions based on intelligence reports and successfully neutralised eight militants across the three districts.

ISPR reported that on October 17, militants attempted to block a road in Panjpai, near Quetta. Security personnel thwarted the attempt, killing five militants during the operation. The forces also destroyed a militant hideout as part of the action.

The statement further said that two additional militants were killed during an intense exchange of fire. Weapons and ammunition were recovered during the operation, according to the military, which did not provide further details about the identities of those killed.

In a separate operation in Khuzdar, security forces targeted a suspected militant hideout, resulting in the death of one militant. ISPR also reported the recovery of approximately 490 kilograms of explosive material during the operation, highlighting concerns about the potential use of explosives in planned attacks.

Security forces are continuing clearance operations in the affected areas to locate and eliminate other suspected militants, according to the statement. The military said its personnel remained engaged in efforts to prevent further militant activity and improve security across the province.
