ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Member of the National Assembly Iqbal Afridi has claimed that former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan told him during their last meeting that members of the party were not following his instructions.
According to a video shared on social media by PTI leader Faisal Javed, Iqbal Afridi said he met Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, where the former premier allegedly expressed concern over the party’s internal affairs.
Afridi claimed that Imran Khan told him, “Iqbal, the party is not listening to me. I say this with my hand on the Holy Quran.” He described the remarks as reflecting the PTI founder’s dissatisfaction with the party’s handling of internal matters.
During the same video statement, Afridi said he responded by drawing a comparison with a past political slogan associated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). He further claimed that he made an aggressive statement regarding individuals whom he believed were disobeying Imran Khan’s directives.
Afridi also alleged that he never had another meeting with Imran Khan after that conversation. He claimed that if he had met the PTI founder again and been told the names of those allegedly not following party instructions, the outcome would have been different.
In the video, Afridi went on to make another statement in which he said that if he were granted another meeting with Imran Khan and was informed about individuals allegedly ignoring his directives, he would take action against them. His remarks included language that appeared to threaten violence.
The statements were made by Iqbal Afridi and have not been independently verified. As of now, there has been no official response from PTI leadership or Imran Khan regarding the claims. The video has sparked discussion on social media about internal party discipline and leadership, while the remarks are likely to draw attention because of their strong language and references to alleged disagreements within the party.
