Iran Warns of Broader Response to Any Aggression

Iran military doctrine is shifting toward a more offensive posture, with army spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia warning that any act of aggression against the country will trigger an immediate and broader response. The remarks were reported by Al Jazeera, citing Iranian state media.

Akraminia said Iran’s military approach had historically focused on defence but had gradually changed following lessons from two recent wars. He described the shift as a move from a defensive posture toward a more offensive one.

The Iranian army spokesman stressed that the change in Iran military doctrine should not automatically be interpreted as a decision to launch pre-emptive operations against adversaries. He said the new approach was instead aimed at strengthening Iran’s ability to respond quickly to threats.

Akraminia warned that Iran would respond immediately if it faced another act of aggression. He said the response could be broader than the initial attack, signaling a tougher military posture amid continuing regional tensions.

The comments come as Iran continues to assess the military lessons of recent conflicts. Iranian officials have increasingly emphasized rapid retaliation and improved military preparedness as key elements of the country’s security strategy.

The army spokesman’s remarks also underline Tehran’s effort to strengthen deterrence while maintaining that an offensive military posture does not necessarily mean initiating conflict. Iran has previously described retaliation as a central component of its response to attacks.

The latest warning adds to growing regional concerns over a possible escalation. Iran military doctrine now appears to place greater emphasis on rapid and wider responses to aggression, while Tehran continues to signal that future attacks could carry significant consequences.
