Karachi Railway Police and KMC Wardens Dispute, Abduction Case Filed

KARACHI: A dispute reportedly broke out between railway police personnel and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) city wardens during road surfacing work near Natha Khan Bridge on Shahrah-e-Faisal. Following the incident, the director of city wardens lodged an abduction case against railway police personnel, according to a report by Geo News.

The incident occurred while resurfacing work was underway on the road alongside Chakor Nullah, which connects the Natha Khan Bridge area with Pehlwan Goth and provides access towards Gulistan-e-Jauhar. According to the complainant, construction work on the road had been continuing for approximately four months.

The complainant, identified as Saim Imran, said he was performing traffic management duties at the site when the incident occurred. He alleged that SHO Ahsan Rashid of Cantt Station arrived at the location accompanied by police personnel.

According to the complaint, Saim Imran alleged that he was assaulted by the police personnel and taken to an undisclosed location. The allegations form part of the case lodged following the dispute between the two groups.

The complainant further alleged that the SHO asked him to hold the officer’s feet and lick his shoes. He claimed that he was subjected to violence after refusing to comply with the demand.

Saim Imran stated that he lost consciousness following the alleged assault and later regained consciousness at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in Karachi. The incident subsequently led to the registration of an abduction case against railway police personnel.

The available report does not include a response from the railway police or details of any further legal proceedings. The allegations have not been independently verified, and the response of the accused officials will be important in establishing the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
