Details regarding meal arrangements and food expenses for Pakistani pilgrims performing Hajj under the government scheme have emerged, revealing that authorities are spending more than Rs 10.86 billion on food services this year.
According to official sources, the total expenditure on meals for Pakistani Hajj pilgrims has exceeded 144.8 million Saudi Riyals. The initiative aims to ensure that pilgrims receive quality meals throughout their stay in Saudi Arabia.
Officials stated that each pilgrim is being provided meals worth 36 Saudi Riyals per day, which is approximately Rs 2,700 in Pakistani currency. Pilgrims are receiving three fresh and warm meals daily as part of the official Hajj package.
The breakfast menu includes paratha, eggs, tea, halwa, and toast, while lunch consists of traditional dishes such as biryani, qorma, lentils, rice, and salad. Authorities say special attention has been given to maintaining food quality and hygiene standards.
Thousands of Pakistani pilgrims have appreciated the food arrangements, particularly the availability of familiar Pakistani dishes during their spiritual journey. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has reportedly coordinated closely with catering companies to ensure smooth meal services.
Meanwhile, it has also been announced that Sheikh Dr. Ali Al-Hudhaifi, the Imam and Khateeb of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, will deliver the Hajj sermon this year.
According to Arab media reports, the Presidency of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques confirmed that Sheikh Ali Al-Hudhaifi will deliver the Hajj sermon at Masjid Namirah on Tuesday, 26 May, corresponding to 9 Dhul Hijjah 1447 AH.
