Pakistan Hockey Players Receive Rs45 Million Ahead of Pro League Campaign

Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has provided financial support worth Rs45 million to members of the national hockey team ahead of their participation in major international tournaments. The initiative is being viewed as a significant step toward boosting player morale and ensuring better preparation for upcoming events.

According to federation officials, each player in the national squad has received Rs2.2 million. The amount includes payments related to the FIH Pro League as well as incentives awarded for the team’s qualification for the Hockey World Cup.

Players were paid Rs700,000 each for their participation in the Pro League. In addition, a cash reward of Rs1.5 million per player was granted following the team’s successful qualification for the upcoming World Cup.

PHF President Mohiuddin Wani stated that this is the first time players have received financial assistance before departing for an international event. He described the move as a positive development aimed at supporting athletes ahead of important competitions.

He further explained that players have also been provided daily allowances for the Pro League tour. The allowances were calculated at a rate of 110 US dollars per day, ensuring that players have adequate support during their overseas commitments.

Pakistan’s national hockey team is scheduled to play four Pro League matches in Belgium from June 13 to June 20 against the host nation and Spain. The team will then travel to England, where it will face India and England in four additional matches between June 23 and June 27.

Following the Pro League campaign, Pakistan will compete in the FIH Hockey World Cup, scheduled to take place in the Netherlands and Belgium from August 14 to August 30. Federation officials have expressed hope that the team’s financial stability and preparations will contribute to strong performances on the international stage.
