Pakistan Says 22 Terrorists Killed in Afghan Airstrikes

Pakistan said Pakistan airstrikes in Afghanistan targeted terrorist hideouts at two locations on Thursday, with 22 terrorists reportedly killed. The strikes were described as planned and calibrated operations based on intelligence.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said the operation was conducted under Operation Ghazab lil Haq. It said the targets were linked to Fitna al Khwarij, Fitna al Hindustan and their affiliates.

According to the ministry, the locations were selected using intelligence about terrorist camps and hideouts. It said the strikes were carried out with precision, while weapons and ammunition stored at the sites were also destroyed.

Pakistan said it has consistently supported regional peace and stability, but the security of its citizens remains its main priority. The ministry also expressed concern over what it described as continued terrorist activity originating from Afghanistan.

The ministry said precautions were taken during the Pakistan airstrikes in Afghanistan to reduce the risk of civilian casualties and other collateral damage. It added that counterterrorism efforts would continue under Operation Ghazab lil Haq and the Azm-e-Istehkam framework.

Separately, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. State media reported that several hideouts and tunnels were destroyed and a large quantity of explosives was recovered, while several terrorists were reportedly killed.

In Balochistan’s Kachhi district, six terrorists were also reported killed during an intelligence-based operation in the Sanni area. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for the operations in Kachhi and North Waziristan, while authorities said efforts against militant activity would continue.
