Punjab schools reopening 2026

Punjab Schools to Reopen on August 24 After Summer Break

Punjab schools reopening 2026 is scheduled for August 24 after the summer vacation, with authorities directing public and private institutions to complete preparations before students return.

The Punjab government has ordered schools to ensure proper cleanliness and security arrangements ahead of reopening. Officials have also stressed compliance with safety measures across educational institutions.

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat instructed schools to review safety arrangements in view of monsoon-related risks and the threat of dengue. Schools have been directed to address potential hazards before reopening.

Authorities have specifically ordered inspections of fans, lights, switches, electrical sockets and wiring. The checks are aimed at identifying and removing electrical risks that could endanger students and staff.

Schools have also been directed to activate CCTV cameras and other security equipment. Officials said institutions must ensure that security arrangements are fully operational when students return under the Punjab schools reopening 2026 plan.

Dengue prevention has also been made a priority before the reopening. Schools have been instructed to clean drainage systems, remove possible mosquito breeding sites and implement relevant standard operating procedures.

The education minister warned that serious action would be taken against institutions that fail to follow the required SOPs. The Punjab schools reopening 2026 preparations are therefore focused on ensuring a safe and clean environment for students.
