Pakistan successfully carried out the test fire of the indigenously developed Fatah-IV cruise missile on Thursday, according to the military’s media wing. The launch was conducted by the Army Rocket Force Command as part of efforts to strengthen operational readiness and defence capability.
The Inter-Services Public Relations stated that the Fatah-IV cruise missile is equipped with advanced avionics and modern navigational systems. Officials said the missile is capable of engaging long-range targets with a high level of precision and accuracy.
According to the military statement, the training launch aimed to improve the operational efficiency of troops and validate technical parameters of various subsystems. The successful exercise also demonstrated enhanced survivability and improved targeting performance.
Senior officers from the Pakistan Army Rocket Force Command attended the launch along with scientists and engineers involved in the missile development programme. Defence experts described the successful firing as an important step in Pakistan’s indigenous defence technology advancement.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the nation on the successful test of the Fatah-IV cruise missile. Military leadership also praised the efforts of scientists, engineers, and technical teams who contributed to the project.
Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, Chief of Naval Staff Naveed Ashraf, and Chief of Air Staff Zaheer Ahmad Baber Sidhu appreciated the successful launch. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also called the achievement a major advancement in Pakistan’s defence sector.
The latest launch comes weeks after the successful training test of the Fateh-II missile system. Defence analysts believe the continued development of the Fatah-IV cruise missile reflects Pakistan’s growing focus on indigenous military technology and strategic defence preparedness.
