Iranian Media Reveals 14-Point Draft Memorandum in US-Iran Talks

Iranian media has published details of a 14-point draft memorandum between Iran and the United States, revealing significant differences from earlier reports regarding sanctions relief, frozen assets, reconstruction commitments, and the scope of future negotiations.

According to reports, the draft outlines a structured framework for the US Iran draft memorandum, but it remains subject to final approval by Iranian authorities before any formal adoption.

Both reported versions of the agreement share several common objectives, including efforts to reduce hostilities and establish a pathway for diplomatic engagement between the two countries.

However, differences emerge in the implementation of the ceasefire, with one version calling for a temporary extension, while the Iranian draft reportedly demands an immediate and permanent cessation of hostilities across all fronts.

A key point of divergence in the US Iran draft memorandum involves the Strait of Hormuz, with one version suggesting immediate reopening, while the Iranian draft proposes reopening within a defined timeline and under coordinated arrangements.

Sanctions relief is another major area of disagreement, with Iranian sources calling for broader suspension and eventual lifting of all sanctions, while other reports suggest conditional relief tied to compliance measures.

The draft also includes provisions related to frozen Iranian assets, with Iranian media reporting a demand for the release of billions of dollars during the negotiation phase, along with broader economic reconstruction commitments.

Iranian reports further state that the draft limits future negotiations to nuclear-related issues and economic matters, explicitly excluding discussions on missile programs and regional alliances.

Officials emphasize that the US Iran draft memorandum is still under review, and its final form will depend on ongoing diplomatic negotiations and political approvals from both sides.
