Bilawal Bhutto Warns AJK Unrest Hurting Kashmir Cause

Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Azad Kashmir comments have drawn attention after he said that ongoing unrest in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) is damaging both the Kashmir cause and Pakistan’s international reputation.

Speaking on the situation, Bilawal Bhutto warned that continued instability in the region is giving hostile elements an opportunity to exploit the situation. He specifically referred to what he called external adversaries benefiting from internal tensions.

He urged all sides involved in the protests to end the unrest peacefully and stressed that political disagreements must be resolved through democratic, constitutional, and non-violent means. His remarks highlighted the need for dialogue and institutional solutions.

The PPP chairman said his party has already demanded that the Election Commission withdraw the earlier election schedule. He added that political grievances must be addressed through proper legal and constitutional channels rather than street confrontation.

Bilawal Bhutto also proposed the formation of a Truth and Reconciliation Commission to address pending complaints and ensure justice. He emphasized that individuals not involved in wrongdoing should not face consequences due to broader political actions.

According to him, if all stakeholders agree, the AJK government could review notifications related to protesting groups to ensure fairness and avoid collective punishment. He reiterated the importance of protecting innocent citizens.

On broader regional diplomacy, Bilawal Bhutto said that the nearing “Islamabad agreement” is a historic development and reflects growing international attention on Pakistan’s diplomatic role in regional stability.

Overall, Bilawal Bhutto Azad Kashmir remarks underline the government’s concern that unrest in the region could have wider political and diplomatic consequences.
