The US-Iran Agreement has received support from China, which described the development as a positive step toward reducing tensions in the Middle East. Beijing also praised Pakistan for its role in facilitating dialogue between Washington and Tehran during the negotiation process.
Speaking at a regular press briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian welcomed the consensus reached on the text of a first-phase memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran. He said China views the agreement as an encouraging diplomatic breakthrough.
The spokesperson specifically commended Pakistan’s efforts to promote dialogue and provide a platform for constructive engagement. He expressed hope that both countries would proceed according to the agreed timetable and formally sign the agreement in the near future.
The remarks came after Pakistan announced that the United States and Iran had reached agreement on the text of a preliminary memorandum through negotiations. The announcement also highlighted plans for an immediate and lasting halt to military actions in several areas, including Lebanon.
Lin Jian emphasized that all parties should remain committed to peace and resolve their differences through dialogue and consultation. According to him, diplomatic engagement remains the most effective way to prevent escalation and maintain regional stability.
China also reiterated the importance of peace and security in the Middle East and Gulf region. The spokesperson said Beijing would continue to support political and diplomatic solutions to regional disputes and encourage efforts aimed at reducing tensions.
The US-Iran Agreement could help create a more stable environment across the region, Lin added. He stated that China is ready to work with the international community to promote peace, support constructive dialogue, and contribute to long-term stability in the Middle East.
