The Punjab Budget 2026-27, with a total outlay of over Rs5,131 billion, is set to be presented in the provincial assembly, focusing heavily on health, education, and social welfare. The budget reflects the government’s priority to improve public services while maintaining development momentum across the province.
According to official sources, the Punjab Budget 2026-27 includes estimated expenditures of Rs3,569.6 billion and operational costs of around Rs580.2 billion. The financial plan also aligns salary increases for government employees with federal government decisions.
A significant portion of the Punjab Budget 2026-27 has been allocated for salaries and pensions, with Rs650 billion proposed for salaries and over Rs505 billion for pensions. Authorities have also indicated a possible increase in labour wages under the new financial plan.
The health sector receives strong attention in the Punjab Budget 2026-27, with Rs680 billion earmarked for healthcare services. Out of this, Rs100 billion is proposed for free medicines, along with support for patients suffering from cancer, heart disease, and stroke.
Education remains another key priority in the Punjab Budget 2026-27, with over Rs900 billion allocated for schools and higher education. The budget includes student support initiatives such as laptop, electric scooter, and bicycle schemes, along with scholarships and university grants.
Social protection programmes also form a major part of the Punjab Budget 2026-27. Funds have been allocated for schemes like the Kisan Card, Himmat Card, Minority Card, and Parwaz Card, aimed at supporting farmers, workers, and vulnerable communities across the province.
Development initiatives and ongoing projects under the leadership of the provincial government remain central to the Punjab Budget 2026-27. Officials say the budget will strengthen public welfare, expand the tax base, and boost economic activity across Punjab.
