Pakistan Urges UN Action Over Continued Gaza Ceasefire Violations

Pakistan has expressed deep concern over ongoing Gaza Ceasefire Violations and the worsening humanitarian situation in the region, calling for urgent international intervention to protect civilians and ensure uninterrupted aid delivery.

Addressing an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said that efforts by international organisations and humanitarian agencies are being undermined by continued unlawful actions in Gaza.

He warned that despite some reported improvements in humanitarian indicators following earlier ceasefire arrangements, nearly two million people in Gaza remain in extremely vulnerable conditions, facing shortages of food, shelter and medical care.

The envoy stressed the need for immediate and unhindered humanitarian access, urging that all border crossings, including Rafah, must remain fully open for the delivery of aid, medical evacuations and commercial supplies.

Highlighting the severity of the crisis, he noted that more than 90% of Gaza’s population has been displaced, while only half of the hospitals are partially functional. He added that daily food availability has significantly declined, worsening hunger among civilians.

Pakistan’s envoy further warned that overcrowding, poor sanitation and lack of healthcare are contributing to disease outbreaks, with over one million children particularly at risk of malnutrition, displacement and interrupted education.

Calling for urgent international responsibility, he urged the UN Security Council to maintain close oversight of the situation and ensure compliance with ceasefire agreements. He reiterated that continued Gaza Ceasefire Violations are deepening the humanitarian catastrophe and endangering long-term regional stability.
