National Assembly Approves Pakistan Budget 2026-27

Pakistan’s National Assembly has officially approved the federal budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, marking a key milestone in the country’s financial planning for the upcoming year. The approval came during a parliamentary session held in Islamabad.

The budget session was chaired by Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, who oversaw the proceedings as lawmakers debated and voted on the government’s financial proposals.

Members of the National Assembly reviewed various budgetary measures and fiscal provisions before granting final approval to the budget. The passage of the budget clears the way for the implementation of the government’s economic and development agenda for the new fiscal year.

Government representatives described the approved budget as an important step toward maintaining economic stability, supporting public services, and advancing national development priorities. The budget outlines planned expenditures, revenue measures, and policy initiatives for the coming year.

The approval follows weeks of parliamentary discussions, during which lawmakers examined allocations for key sectors, including infrastructure, social welfare, education, and economic development. The budget is expected to guide government spending and fiscal management throughout the fiscal year.

Following the approval, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq announced that the National Assembly session would be adjourned until 11:00 a.m. the following day. Members are expected to reconvene to continue parliamentary business and legislative proceedings.
