Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the ongoing US-Iran talks, with the Foreign Office stating that Islamabad will continue engaging with working groups established under the recent diplomatic framework. Officials said the next round of technical discussions is expected to begin next week as efforts continue toward a broader agreement.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said the international community has acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating dialogue between Washington and Tehran. He noted that Pakistan remains committed to promoting peace, stability, and diplomatic engagement across the region.
Speaking to journalists in Islamabad, Andrabi said technical-level US-Iran talks are likely to resume next week. While Tuesday is being considered as the tentative start date, discussions could also begin on Monday or Wednesday. He did not disclose the venue for the upcoming negotiations.
The spokesperson emphasized that Pakistan would continue working closely with all stakeholders involved in the process. He said Islamabad’s objective is to support dialogue and help create an environment conducive to peaceful conflict resolution through diplomacy rather than confrontation.
Andrabi also highlighted the recent visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Pakistan. The visit took place at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and included high-level meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari and the prime minister.
According to the Foreign Office, the visit provided an opportunity for both countries to review bilateral relations and explore ways to expand cooperation in multiple sectors. The leadership of Pakistan and Iran also discussed regional developments and matters of mutual interest.
As diplomatic efforts continue, Pakistan has reiterated its support for constructive engagement between Tehran and Washington. Officials believe that sustained dialogue through the ongoing US-Iran talks could contribute to greater regional stability and strengthen prospects for a long-term political understanding.
