The US president also denied reports that Washington planned to release frozen Iranian assets without conditions. Instead, he suggested that any funds linked to Iranian assets could be used for purchases such as food products, including agricultural goods from American farmers.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued its own statement regarding maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian officials stressed that any new shipping routes introduced without coordination with Tehran would be considered unacceptable and potentially dangerous.
