Zardari Highlights Strong Pakistan-US Relations

President Asif Ali Zardari has reaffirmed the importance of Pakistan-US relations, describing the bilateral partnership as one based on mutual respect, shared interests, and a common commitment to peace and prosperity. In a message sent to US President Donald Trump on the occasion of the United States’ 250th anniversary, Zardari extended congratulations and expressed confidence in the future of ties between the two countries.

According to a statement shared by the Presidency, President Zardari praised the United States for its long history of innovation, democratic values, and contributions to global development. He said the achievements of the American people over the past 250 years have played an important role in promoting progress and prosperity around the world.

Highlighting the strength of Pakistan-US relations, the president said the partnership has continued to grow through mutual respect and cooperation. He also acknowledged the role of the Pakistani-American community, noting that its contributions have strengthened social, cultural, and economic links while serving as a bridge of friendship between the two nations.

President Zardari described bilateral ties as moving in a positive direction, with renewed engagement in several important sectors. He stressed the need to maintain this momentum through structured cooperation in energy security, trade and investment, defence, counter-terrorism, and other areas of shared interest.

The president also underlined that strong Pakistan-US relations contribute to regional peace and stability. He referred to last year’s diplomatic efforts that resulted in a ceasefire between two nuclear-armed neighbours, saying such initiatives demonstrated the value of constructive international engagement.

Zardari further appreciated the confidence shown by the United States in Pakistan’s diplomatic role, particularly regarding mediation efforts linked to Iran. He said dialogue, diplomacy, and de-escalation remain the most effective path toward resolving regional disputes and ensuring lasting peace.

Concluding his message, President Zardari invited President Donald Trump to visit Islamabad at his earliest convenience. He expressed optimism that Pakistan-US relations would continue to expand through deeper cooperation, mutual trust, and sustained diplomatic engagement in the years ahead.
