Pakistan Approves Hajj Policy and Plan 2027-2030

The federal cabinet has approved Pakistan Hajj Policy 2027-2030 Plan, introducing a series of reforms aimed at improving accessibility, transparency, and efficiency in the management of Hajj arrangements.

During a briefing to the cabinet, officials stated that the new policy will allow aspiring pilgrims to register for Hajj in advance and secure their place for any pilgrimage season up to 2030. A priority-based waiting list will also be established to streamline the allocation process and accommodate growing demand.

As part of the reforms, the government plans to introduce a Shariah-compliant savings scheme that will enable individuals to gradually save funds for future Hajj journeys. The initiative is intended to make the pilgrimage more financially accessible for a wider segment of the population.

The cabinet was also informed that efforts are underway to digitize the entire Hajj management system. The move is expected to improve service delivery, enhance transparency, and simplify procedures for applicants throughout the registration and travel process.

In addition, the federal cabinet emphasized that the appointment of Hajj assistants should be carried out through a transparent and merit-based process. It also directed authorities to ensure independent third-party validation of both public and private Hajj operations to maintain service quality and accountability.

Officials believe the new policy framework will strengthen Pakistan’s Hajj management system while providing greater convenience and confidence to pilgrims planning for future pilgrimage seasons.
