PCB Finalizes President’s Trophy Grade-I Schedule

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finalized the President’s Trophy Grade-I schedule, confirming the dates, participating teams and host venues for the country’s premier departmental first-class cricket tournament. The competition will begin on September 24, while the final is scheduled to be played from November 5 to November 9.

A total of eight teams will compete in this year’s President’s Trophy Grade-I. The participating sides are State Bank of Pakistan, WAPDA, Khan Research Laboratories (KRL), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), Ghani Glass, Pakistan Television (PTV), Sahar Associates and MIT Solutions.

According to the PCB schedule, matches will be staged across Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Abbottabad. The selected venues are expected to provide competitive playing conditions throughout the tournament.

The President’s Trophy Grade-I is regarded as one of Pakistan’s leading domestic first-class competitions and serves as an important platform for departmental teams to showcase emerging and experienced cricketers.

Department representatives welcomed the PCB’s decision to announce the schedule well in advance. They said receiving the tournament calendar nearly two to two-and-a-half months before the opening match would help organizations complete administrative preparations efficiently.

Officials also noted that early confirmation of host cities would make it easier to approve budgets, arrange logistics and finalize travel and accommodation plans before the competition begins.

The early release of the President’s Trophy Grade-I schedule is expected to improve planning for participating departments while ensuring better operational readiness for one of Pakistan’s major domestic cricket tournaments.
