Iran Claims Strikes On US Facilities In Kuwait And Bahrain

The Iran-US conflict escalated further on Saturday after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it carried out missile and drone strikes targeting US-linked military and logistical facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain. The claims came as both countries continued exchanging attacks following the collapse of a previously announced ceasefire.

According to the IRGC, Iranian forces targeted a US fleet fuel support pier at Al Ahmadi Port in Kuwait and Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain. The group also claimed it destroyed a US intelligence data centre in Bahrain and a US communications facility in Kuwait. Independent verification of these battlefield claims was not immediately available.

Iranian officials also said recent US strikes in Hormozgan Province killed seven to eight civilians. Local authorities alleged that attacks on bridges, residential areas and other infrastructure resulted in civilian casualties, including women and children, and caused extensive damage to public facilities.

Kuwaiti authorities confirmed that an important oil sector facility was hit during the attacks, reporting injuries and material damage. Officials said emergency teams evacuated the site and coordinated rescue operations with relevant government agencies. Iran also claimed attacks on the US military’s Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan, although those claims have not been independently confirmed.

Meanwhile, Iranian officials said a US strike damaged a desalination plant in Hormozgan, disrupting drinking water supplies to around 20 villages with a combined population of nearly 10,000 people. Authorities described the incident as a humanitarian concern, saying water shortages had affected local communities.

The Iran-US conflict has also intensified maritime tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic waterway that carries roughly one-fifth of the world’s oil trade. The United States said it continued enforcing maritime restrictions, while Iran claimed it had intercepted vessels that violated its navigation rules. Washington also rejected Iranian reports that two oil tankers had been destroyed.

As military exchanges continue, concerns are growing over the wider regional impact on energy supplies, commercial shipping and international security. Many of the claims made by both sides remain disputed, and the situation continues to develop amid heightened diplomatic and military tensions.
