Pakistan, Kuwait Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Pakistan Kuwait bilateral cooperation received a boost as both countries agreed to strengthen partnerships in trade, investment, energy, defence, and several other important sectors. The agreement was reached during delegation-level talks between the two sides in Islamabad.

Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah arrived in Pakistan for a two-day official visit aimed at reviewing bilateral relations and discussing regional and international developments. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar co-chaired the talks.

According to Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, both sides explored ways to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, labour, agriculture, information technology, health, mining, minerals, defence, and economic development. The two countries also agreed to strengthen institutional links through regular high-level engagements.

The foreign ministers reaffirmed their commitment to closer coordination at international forums on matters of shared interest. Kuwait’s foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s hospitality and thanked Islamabad for its support during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ishaq Dar highlighted Pakistan’s longstanding friendly relations with Kuwait and expressed Islamabad’s desire to expand mutually beneficial cooperation. He said both countries should continue working together to create new opportunities across various fields.

The discussions also covered regional issues, including developments in the Middle East and Palestine. Kuwait appreciated Pakistan’s role in supporting regional peace and stability through diplomatic efforts.

The visit comes amid reports that Pakistan and Kuwait are exploring expanded cooperation in defence and energy sectors. Officials said discussions remain at an early stage, while regional security challenges may influence future decisions.
