The federal government has announced revised Pakistan fuel prices, reducing the price of petrol while increasing the rate of high-speed diesel (HSD). The new prices came into effect from July 30, following the latest fortnightly review issued by the Petroleum Division.
According to the official notification, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs0.75 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs335.06 per litre. The reduction provides limited relief for private vehicle owners and daily commuters across the country.
In contrast, the government increased the price of high-speed diesel by Rs2.24 per litre, setting the new rate at Rs390.62 per litre. The revised diesel price also became effective from midnight on July 30.
The latest Pakistan fuel prices adjustment reflects differing trends in petroleum products during the review period. While motorists using petrol will benefit from a slight reduction, industries and commercial transport operators that depend on diesel are expected to face higher operating costs.
Economists say the increase in diesel prices could have a broader impact on the economy because diesel is widely used in freight transport, public transport, agriculture, and heavy machinery. Rising transport costs may eventually contribute to higher prices of food and other essential goods.
Business groups and consumers will closely monitor the effect of the revised fuel rates on inflation and transportation expenses over the coming weeks. Fuel price adjustments often influence production costs and the movement of goods across Pakistan.
The revised Pakistan fuel prices underline the government’s continued review of petroleum rates in line with market conditions. While the petrol cut offers modest relief, the diesel increase may create fresh inflationary pressure in sectors heavily dependent on fuel.
