Polling is underway in four constituencies of Bagh and Haveli districts during the third phase of AJK Elections 2026. Under the revised election schedule, voting is being held in three constituencies of Bagh and one constituency of Haveli, while elections in several constituencies of Poonch and Sudhnoti have been postponed.
Polling began at 8am and is scheduled to continue until 5pm without a break. Election officials have said that around 460,000 registered voters are eligible to cast their ballots across the four constituencies.
The four constituencies have attracted considerable political attention because several prominent political figures are contesting from the area. Among the high-profile candidates are former AJK prime ministers Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan and Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, as well as AJK Prime Minister Faisal Rathore.
Authorities have finalized security arrangements for polling day. Police and other security personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order and facilitate voters throughout the electoral process.
The third phase was revised after the election authorities reviewed the security situation. Under the updated schedule, voting is taking place only in the Bagh and Haveli constituencies today, while polling in the remaining constituencies affected by the revised timetable will be held later.
The first two phases of the AJK Elections 2026 have already produced significant results for the major political parties. According to the figures provided, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz is leading with 24 seats, while the Pakistan Peoples Party stands second with 10 seats. The remaining contests could play an important role in determining the balance of power in the assembly.
