Indian Technology Used Against Pakistan Drones Failed: Experts

Security experts have claimed that Indian drone technology reportedly provided to the Afghan Taliban for use against Pakistan failed to overcome the country’s air defence capabilities.

According to a report, the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) have received support from the Afghan Taliban, while India has allegedly provided financial assistance.

The report said the Afghan Taliban claimed to have carried out a drone attack in Pakistan in June 2026. Pakistan’s air defence system reportedly intercepted and destroyed the drone before it could reach its intended target.

Security experts cited in the report said the drones used in the alleged attack were supplied by India. They described the equipment as relatively low-grade, with limited technical capabilities.

Experts further claimed that Pakistan has developed strong defensive capabilities against such unmanned aerial systems. These systems can reportedly detect, track and neutralise drones while they are still airborne.

The assessment suggests that the effectiveness of drone operations depends not only on the equipment supplied but also on its technical capabilities and the defensive systems deployed by the target country.

The claims come amid continuing security concerns along Pakistan’s western border and allegations regarding militant activity originating from Afghanistan. Pakistan has repeatedly raised concerns over cross-border threats and militant safe havens.

The reported interception highlights the growing importance of counter-drone capabilities in modern security operations. However, claims regarding the origin and technical specifications of the drones should be assessed against independently verified evidence.
