Pakistan’s tennis star Aisam-ul-Haq has won the mixed doubles title at the ITF Masters World Championship, partnering with Germany’s Nina Hermann to claim a prestigious world championship crown.
Aisam-ul-Haq and Nina Hermann produced an impressive performance in the final, defeating Portugal’s top-seeded pair Fred Gil and Rita Freitas in straight sets. The winning duo secured a 6-4, 6-3 victory to lift the mixed doubles world title.
The Pakistani-German partnership maintained control throughout the final and converted its opportunities at crucial moments. The victory adds another major achievement to Aisam-ul-Haq’s distinguished career and represents a significant success for Pakistan on the international tennis stage.
Meanwhile, Aisam-ul-Haq and fellow Pakistani tennis player Aqeel Khan also reached the men’s 45+ doubles final. However, the Pakistani pair were defeated by France’s Jacques Gley and Jean-Baptiste Renault, finishing the competition with a silver medal.
Pakistan enjoyed an impressive overall campaign at the ITF Masters World Championship, securing four medals. The country’s medal tally included one gold, two silver and one bronze, underlining the strong performances delivered by its experienced tennis players.
Aqeel Khan also contributed to Pakistan’s medal haul by winning a bronze medal in the 40+ mixed doubles category alongside Germany’s Aline Aranas-Roth. The result further strengthened Pakistan’s presence across different Masters categories.
