Abdul Aleem Khan Urges Politicians to Support New Provinces

Federal Minister for Communications and President of the Stability Pakistan Party Abdul Aleem Khan has urged politicians to take ownership of the debate over new provinces and prioritise public issues. Abdul Aleem Khan new provinces remarks came amid growing calls for administrative restructuring across Pakistan.

In a statement, Abdul Aleem Khan said people across the country want new provinces to be created on administrative grounds. He noted that demands for a separate Hazara province have been raised in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly since 2010.

The federal minister welcomed support for the Hazara province demand from major political parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said the Stability Pakistan Party supports the creation of Hazara province and also backs demands for new provinces in Punjab and Sindh.

According to Abdul Aleem Khan, the party supports the creation of South Punjab and Bahawalpur provinces. He said the issue should be treated as a national matter rather than being delayed because of political interests or expediency.

The Abdul Aleem Khan new provinces proposal also includes a broader administrative restructuring of the country. He said there would be no harm in dividing each of Pakistan’s four provinces into four administrative units if such a system improves governance and public service delivery.

He argued that current circumstances require Pakistan to consider a new working order. According to him, politicians should focus on solving public problems instead of protecting their traditional political influence and local dominance.

Abdul Aleem Khan said the Stability Pakistan Party would continue raising the issue of new provinces at every available forum. He urged political leaders to take responsibility and ownership of the process, saying administrative reforms should ultimately serve the interests of the people.
