The Ukraine Iranian drones Middle East issue has drawn international attention after President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that Ukrainian military specialists have assisted in shooting down Iranian drones in several countries across the region.
Speaking to journalists, including AFP reporters, Zelensky stated that Ukrainian experts were deployed to multiple Middle Eastern states where they contributed to intercepting Iranian-made drones used in retaliatory attacks following regional military escalation.
He clarified that the operation was not limited to training purposes but involved active support in strengthening air defense systems. According to him, Ukrainian personnel helped improve interception capabilities as part of broader cooperation linked to the Ukraine Iranian drones Middle East situation.
Zelensky further said that drone interception activities were carried out in more than one country, though he did not disclose exact locations. He emphasized that Ukrainian expertise played a direct role in countering aerial threats involving Iranian drones.
The Ukrainian president also noted that these deployments followed increased tensions in the region after strikes involving the United States and Israel triggered retaliatory drone attacks, escalating the Ukraine Iranian drones Middle East security environment.
He added that Ukrainian units would continue operating in some regions even after temporary ceasefire understandings between Iran and the United States, highlighting ongoing strategic cooperation.
Zelensky further suggested that Ukraine may receive compensation in return, including financial arrangements, oil supplies, and air defense interceptors, linking these exchanges to the broader Ukraine Iranian drones Middle East defense collaboration.
