The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is actively working on an ambitious plan to take PSL in Saudi Arabia, marking a major step toward expanding Pakistan’s premier cricket league beyond national borders. The proposal includes building a dedicated cricket stadium in Jeddah.
According to official sources, the PCB has expressed interest in constructing a modern stadium in Saudi Arabia in collaboration with the Saudi Arabia Cricket Federation. This initiative aims to strengthen cricket’s footprint in the Gulf region.
The idea of PSL in Saudi Arabia is gaining attention due to the large South Asian expatriate community and growing interest in sports across the Kingdom. Saudi authorities are also encouraging international sporting events as part of their broader development vision.
PCB officials are currently reviewing multiple venues in Saudi Arabia to identify a suitable location for the proposed stadium. The project is still in its early planning phase, with discussions ongoing at different levels.
If agreements are finalized, construction of the stadium could begin soon. PCB leadership believes the facility could be completed within a year, depending on approvals and cooperation from local authorities.
The envisioned stadium is expected to feature modern facilities, including floodlights and significant seating capacity, making it suitable for international-standard cricket events and PSL in Saudi Arabia matches.
Officials believe this expansion would not only bring Pakistan cricket closer to international audiences but also provide new opportunities for young cricketers and strengthen the global profile of the Pakistan Super League.
