PTCL Internet Slowdown

PTCL Users May Face Internet Slowdown Due to Submarine Cable Repair

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) users across the country may experience slower internet speeds in the coming days due to ongoing submarine cable repair work. The company has issued an official statement informing customers about the expected disruption.

According to PTCL, the slowdown is linked to maintenance and repair activities on an international submarine cable system. The repair operation is scheduled to continue from May 11 to May 18.

The company stated that internet services are most likely to be affected during evening hours when network usage remains at its peak. Customers may experience slower browsing, streaming interruptions, and delays in online services during this period.

PTCL explained that the repair work is being carried out by an international cable consortium responsible for maintaining global submarine communication infrastructure. Such maintenance activities are considered essential for ensuring stable and secure internet connectivity.

Officials said the temporary inconvenience is necessary to improve long-term internet quality and service reliability for users across Pakistan. The company assured customers that efforts are being made to minimize disruptions as much as possible.

Submarine cables play a crucial role in global internet connectivity by carrying large volumes of international data traffic. Any maintenance or damage to these cables can significantly impact internet speed and communication services in multiple countries.

PTCL users have been advised to expect temporary fluctuations in internet performance during the maintenance period. The company emphasized that the upgrades and repairs would help strengthen network stability and improve overall user experience in the future.
