Actress Banita Sandhu has reportedly joined Samuk, an upcoming science-fiction action thriller starring Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. Directed by Kanishk Varma, the film is currently being shot in London and is expected to combine science fiction, action and survival themes. However, the filmmakers have not officially confirmed Sandhu’s casting.
According to reports, Sandhu will play a British-born Indian environmentalist who becomes involved in a mission she was not originally expected to join. Details about her character and its importance to the main storyline remain undisclosed. The film’s makers have kept much of the plot under wraps.
The reported addition of Sandhu brings another performer into the cast of Samuk, which is expected to feature several established actors. The project reportedly includes Rukmini Maitra, Vineet Kumar Singh, Rajat Kapoor and Swanand Kirkire. However, further details about their respective roles and character connections have not been revealed.
The film marks a collaboration between Akshay Kumar and director Kanishk Varma on a science-fiction project centred on survival and an unfamiliar world. Although filming is underway in London, the production team has released limited information about the storyline, leaving audiences waiting for more details about the film’s premise.
Sandhu began her acting career with Shoojit Sircar’s romantic drama October, released in 2018. She starred opposite Varun Dhawan in the film, which introduced her to a wider audience. Her performance helped establish her presence in the Indian film industry.
She later appeared in projects including Sardar Udham and Main Vaapas Aaunga. Sandhu has also worked internationally, appearing in the Netflix period drama series Bridgerton. Her work across Indian and international productions has given her experience in different genres and screen environments.
The reported Banita Sandhu Samuk casting has attracted attention as audiences await further announcements about the science-fiction thriller. With Akshay Kumar leading the project and filming taking place in London, the film brings together a cast with varied backgrounds. Its release date, detailed plot and Sandhu’s official involvement remain unconfirmed.
