The Israel Lebanon airstrikes have intensified once again after Israeli military strikes killed at least nine people in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon’s state media. The attacks have further escalated tensions in the already volatile region.
The Israel Lebanon airstrikes reportedly targeted multiple locations, including residential areas in southern Lebanon. Civil defence teams confirmed that several victims were pulled from the rubble following the strikes.
According to the National News Agency, five people were killed in a dawn strike on the town of Ansariyeh. Additional casualties were reported in other areas affected by the ongoing Israel Lebanon airstrikes campaign.
Rescue operations continued as emergency teams recovered bodies and assisted the injured. Officials said at least three people were wounded in an attack on the Al-Khodra complex in the Qadmous area.
The strikes come at a time when diplomatic efforts are attempting to reduce tensions. The United States, Israel, and Lebanon recently agreed to begin direct negotiations following talks in Washington, raising hopes for de-escalation despite continued Israel Lebanon airstrikes.
The talks mark the first direct engagement between Israel and Lebanon in over three decades, involving senior officials from all sides, including US diplomatic representatives. However, violence on the ground continues to overshadow diplomatic progress.
Pakistan also condemned the attacks at a United Nations meeting, calling for an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian access, as concerns grow over worsening conditions due to the ongoing Israel Lebanon airstrikes.
