Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed strong Pakistan China ties during a meeting with a senior Chinese delegation in Islamabad. The delegation arrived to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations between both countries. Officials discussed regional cooperation, economic development, and future strategic partnerships during the high-level meeting.
The Chinese delegation was led by Cai Dafeng, who represented Beijing during the anniversary celebrations. Moreover, Pakistani officials welcomed the delegation warmly and highlighted the importance of long-term bilateral cooperation. Both sides emphasized their shared commitment to peace, development, and economic stability in the region.
During the meeting, Sharif described Pakistan China ties as historic and based on mutual trust and strategic understanding. Furthermore, he extended greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. Pakistan also reaffirmed support for China’s core interests and appreciated Beijing’s consistent diplomatic support.
The prime minister praised the achievements of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor in improving Pakistan’s infrastructure and economic growth. In addition, he announced Pakistan’s commitment to advancing the next phase of CPEC cooperation. The upcoming projects will mainly focus on agriculture, mining, industry, and information technology sectors.
Both countries also exchanged views on regional and international developments during the meeting. Sharif appreciated China’s role in supporting peace and stability across South Asia and the Middle East. Meanwhile, Chinese officials expressed support for Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen regional harmony and multilateral cooperation with neighboring countries.
Cai Dafeng stated that China remained committed to further strengthening Pakistan China ties in the coming years. He also emphasized Beijing’s interest in building a stronger “shared future” partnership with Pakistan. Additionally, Chinese officials promised continued cooperation in economic, diplomatic, and strategic sectors for long-term regional progress.
Several senior Pakistani officials attended the meeting, including Ishaq Dar and Ahsan Iqbal. Both countries described their partnership as an “ironclad brotherhood” supporting peace and development. The meeting further highlighted the growing importance of Pakistan China ties in regional diplomacy and economic cooperation.
