PSL 12 Set to Begin on March 18, 2027, PCB Confirms

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the window for the 12th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). PSL 12 will be played from March 18 to May 2, 2027, with eight teams set to participate for the second consecutive season.

According to the PCB, the tournament window was finalized after consultations with the PSL Governing Council and franchise representatives. The governing council meeting was held in London on September 1, with owners and representatives of all eight franchises attending the meeting.

The upcoming season will follow several major developments introduced during PSL 11. The previous edition saw the player draft replaced by a player auction for the first time, marking a significant change in the league’s recruitment process. The final at Gaddafi Stadium also attracted a record crowd of 32,461 spectators.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said PSL 11 demonstrated the league’s potential on the international stage. He highlighted the exciting matches, record crowds and new broadcast milestones achieved during the tournament, while expressing his commitment to staging another successful PSL season in 2027.

PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer also welcomed the announcement and said the league was determined to meet the expectations of fans in 2027. He described the announcement of the tournament window as only the first step toward preparations for the next edition.

Naseer added that all eight franchises would be more determined than ever to compete for the championship. With millions of fans in Pakistan and around the world following the league, anticipation for PSL 12 is expected to grow as further details are announced.

Peshawar Zalmi won the PSL 11 title after defeating Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets in the final at Gaddafi Stadium. The victory ended Zalmi’s nine-year wait for the PSL trophy. The PCB said details regarding direct signings, the player auction, schedule, venues and ticketing for PSL 12 will be announced at a later stage.
