ISPR strong response to India

ISPR Responds Strongly to Indian Army Chief’s Provocative Statement

ISPR has issued a strong response to recent remarks made by General Upendra Dwivedi, calling the statement provocative and irresponsible. The response comes after the Indian Army Chief questioned whether Pakistan wanted to remain part of “geography and history.”

According to ISPR, Pakistan is already an important global state and a recognized nuclear power. The military spokesperson emphasized that Pakistan remains an undeniable part of South Asia’s geography, politics, and history. The statement rejected any suggestion challenging Pakistan’s sovereignty or regional relevance.

The controversy began after General Upendra Dwivedi, during a recent interview, made comments interpreted as threatening and hostile toward Pakistan. His remarks triggered criticism from Pakistani officials and defense analysts, who viewed the statement as an example of escalating rhetoric from the Indian military leadership.

ISPR stated that such comments reveal that the Indian leadership has still failed to accept the reality of Pakistan’s existence, even after more than seven decades. The military media wing further added that this aggressive and narrow-minded approach has repeatedly pushed South Asia toward conflicts and regional instability.

The statement also warned that threatening to erase a sovereign neighboring country from the map reflects strategic irresponsibility and dangerous thinking. ISPR stressed that responsible nuclear states should demonstrate restraint, maturity, and strategic seriousness rather than engage in inflammatory rhetoric.

Defense experts believe the exchange of harsh statements between both countries could further increase tensions in the region. Pakistan and India, both nuclear-armed neighbors, have a long history of political and military disputes, making diplomatic caution essential for regional peace and stability.

Pakistan reiterated its commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty and maintaining regional peace while responding firmly to any hostile narrative. ISPR concluded that provocative statements cannot change historical realities or weaken Pakistan’s position as an independent and recognized state in the international community.
