Pakistani security forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan, killing four militants during an exchange of fire in the Spinwam area. Security officials described the operation as a major success against militant networks operating in the region.
According to security sources, the operation targeted a militant hideout in Spinwam after receiving intelligence reports about the presence of armed terrorists. During the raid, security forces engaged the militants and eliminated four terrorists, including a key commander identified as Umar alias Jan Mir.
Sources stated that Umar alias Jan Mir was considered a high-value militant commander involved in planning attacks against security personnel and civilians. Authorities had reportedly placed a bounty of 3 million Pakistani rupees on his head due to his involvement in multiple terrorist incidents.
Security officials further revealed that the militant commander had established underground bunkers, tunnels, and explosive traps around the Bobali Mosque area in Spinwam. The infrastructure was allegedly used to hide militants and launch attacks in nearby regions.
The operation was carried out with careful planning to dismantle militant networks and recover the area from extremist influence. Security personnel also conducted search and clearance activities after the encounter to ensure the area was fully secured.
North Waziristan has remained a sensitive security zone due to the presence of militant groups operating near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Pakistani forces have intensified intelligence-based operations in recent years to prevent cross-border terrorism and improve regional stability.
