Pakistan Announces ODI Squad for Australia Series

Pakistan Cricket Board has announced Pakistan’s 16-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against Australia, scheduled to be played from May 30 to June 4 in Rawalpindi and Lahore.

Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has been appointed captain of the national ODI side for the series, while Salman Ali Agha will serve as vice-captain.

The squad includes several new faces, with Ahmed Daniyal, Arafat Minhas, and Rohail Nazir receiving call-ups to the ODI setup. The selectors have also recalled senior players Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan, and Sufiyan Muqeem to strengthen the squad.

According to the PCB, Mohammad Ghazi Ghori and Rohail Nazir have been included as wicketkeeper-batters for the ODI series. Meanwhile, Usman Khan was not considered due to illness.

The board also confirmed that Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub are still recovering from injuries and will continue their rehabilitation programs.

Several players, including Faheem Ashraf, Faisal Akram, Hussain Talat, Mohammad Rizwan, Wasim Junior, and Saad Masood, have been dropped from the ODI squad for the Australia series.

Pakistan’s full squad for the ODI series includes Shaheen Shah Afridi (captain), Salman Ali Agha (vice-captain), Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Ahmed Daniyal, Arafat Minhas, Babar Azam, Maaz Sadaqat, Mohammad Ghazi Ghori, Naseem Shah, Rohail Nazir, Haris Rauf, Sahibzada Farhan, Shadab Khan, Shamyl Hussain, and Sufiyan Muqeem.
