Former National Assembly Speaker and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser has claimed that more than 400 missing persons were recovered during the party’s tenure in government. Speaking at a press conference in Quetta, he also called for stronger public representation, political freedom, and effective implementation of policies in Balochistan.
Addressing the media alongside PTI leader Junaid Akbar, Asad Qaiser said that the current National Assembly and Balochistan Assembly do not reflect genuine public representation. He urged authorities to provide an opportunity for what he described as the people’s true representatives to enter the assemblies.
He emphasized that PTI would not compromise on its fundamental democratic rights. According to Qaiser, ensuring political freedom and providing a level playing field for all political parties are essential for strengthening Pakistan’s democratic process.
Discussing the situation in Balochistan, Asad Qaiser called for the full implementation of the National Action Plan. He claimed that during the PTI government’s tenure, more than 400 missing persons were recovered, adding that addressing the province’s long-standing grievances requires listening to the concerns of local communities.
The PTI leader also said that Akhtar Mengal remains an ally of the party and that efforts will continue to work together on issues affecting Balochistan through political cooperation and dialogue.
Speaking at the same press conference, Junaid Akbar stated that PTI founder Imran Khan continues to enjoy the trust of people across Pakistan. He argued that political power in Balochistan should rest with representatives who have the confidence and support of the public.
