Norway fire destroys

Massive Fire Destroys Over 100 Homes in Norway’s Drammen

A devastating wildfire has destroyed more than 100 homes in the Norwegian city of Drammen, forcing hundreds of residents to evacuate as emergency crews battle the fast-moving blaze. Strong winds have intensified the fire, making firefighting operations more challenging and raising concerns about further damage.

According to international media reports, the fire broke out unexpectedly before spreading rapidly through residential areas. The powerful winds fueled the flames, allowing the fire to engulf more than 100 homes and extend into nearby forested areas within a short period.

Emergency services responded immediately after receiving reports of the fire. Firefighters, supported by more than 60 volunteers, are continuing efforts to bring the blaze under control. Helicopters have also been deployed to conduct aerial water drops and help contain the rapidly spreading fire.

Authorities confirmed that hundreds of residents have been safely evacuated from affected neighborhoods as a precautionary measure. Emergency teams are working to ensure the safety of local communities while monitoring the fire’s movement and preventing it from spreading further.

Despite the extensive destruction, officials said there have been no reports of fatalities so far. Rescue teams remain on high alert as firefighting operations continue in difficult weather conditions, with strong winds posing an ongoing challenge.

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire and have launched an investigation. Officials say a full assessment of the damage will be carried out once the blaze is fully contained, while emergency services continue working to protect lives and property.
