Gold Prices Rise for Second Day in Pakistan

Gold prices in Pakistan increased for the second consecutive day on Friday, with the price of one tola rising by Rs5,200 to Rs477,136, according to rates issued by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association.

The latest increase followed a sharp Rs13,700 rise recorded on Thursday. Gold had closed at Rs471,936 a day earlier after falling by Rs3,700 per tola on Wednesday.

The price of 10 grammes of gold also increased on Friday. It rose by Rs4,458 to reach Rs409,067, highlighting continued volatility in the local bullion market.

The recent movement shows how quickly gold prices in Pakistan can change in response to international market trends. Domestic rates have recorded significant gains and losses over the past several trading sessions.

In the international market, gold also continued its upward movement on Friday. The price increased by another $52 to $4,547 per ounce after rising $137 to $4,495 on Thursday.

The domestic gold market has closely followed these global movements. Gold is commonly considered a safe-haven asset, with demand often increasing during economic uncertainty, inflation concerns and geopolitical tensions.

The latest gains underline continued volatility in gold prices in Pakistan and international bullion markets. Investors and consumers are closely watching global economic developments, currency movements and central bank policy signals.
